Scenes of Hertfordshire Police Cadets in training

One of a collection of three Cadet training films of the Hertfordshire County Police. This film was made by Cadets of classes 6 & 7. Sign on a wall reading ‘Dacorum’ before the camera pans over the Hertfordshire County Police training centre. Shot of an alarm clock by the side of a bed. A boy in bed reaches over, presses the alarm clock and gets out of bed. He looks into a mirror and shaves. He wakes up another boy who hits him over the head with a pillow. He goes into another room and wales up a boy who is asleep. Boys come out of a building and jog past the camera. Shot of the boys running across a field. The Cadets stand in line wearing their uniforms and march towards the camera. Camera pans over the fields and a lake. Camera pans over a building and a building site. Shot of a crane. Shot of the Cadets marching. Shot of the Cadets in a training classroom. Camera pans across the classroom to show the teacher standing at the front by a blackboard. Shot of the cadets doing exercises outside followed by them vaulting inside. Shot of a swimming instructor followed by two boys swimming in the pool. The Cadets carry out life guard training. Three Cadets in uniform walk down a new town shopping street and into Boots. The Cadets line up to collect their money. Close-up of a Cadet holding money and his payslip. Close ups of Cadets smiling at the camera. Shot of a living room and a boy reading a newspaper. A group of Cadets watch television. Four Cadets play table tennis. A man stands on a platform in the centre and then walks over to the lines of cadets and talks to them. The Cadets salute and march past the audience.
