Profile of the life and work of Capability Brown, an English landscape architect, showing the gardens and the buildings that he designed, during the 18th century. Footage of Brown’s work, featuring the country estates of England, and his less uniform more naturalistic influenced designs. In particular his work at Stowe House and Gardens in his early career, and once established, the alterations and improvements made to the Longleat Country Estate; the lake, gardens and additional buildings designed at Burghley House Estate; the design of Corsham Court, its intricate interior features and surrounding park; Milton Abbey and the design of the village of Milton Abbas, Dorset; transformations to the Royal Gardens at Richmond Park – now Kew Gardens; the surrounds of Alnwick Castle in his birth county; and finally, by his own admission, his most outstanding achievement, the surrounding estate at Blenheim Palace.
