Animation. Cartoon illustration of a performance of The First Lord’s song from Gilbert and Sullivan's 'HMS Pinafore'.
A cut-out cartoon based on the First Lord's song from Gilbert and Sullivan's 'HMS Pinafore' which chronicles how his lordship rose from a humble office boy to become 'Ruler of the Queen's Nav-ee'. The film points up the satire of Gilbert's original lyric with numerous visual jokes such as the way the 'Cousins, Sisters and Aunts' pop up in the most unlikely places in each refrain - between the pages of legal tomes, on the benches of the House of Commons and even in the crow's-nest of the ship itself.
