A mother dreams her family win a competition and go to Blackpool.
A family seen at breakfast and teatime; they wonder if they have won a competition in the local paper. The mother sits down to rest; the remainder of the film is her dream. The father announces they have won the competition. They take a taxi from Salford to Manchester Victoria station to Blackpool North station. They see the attractions at Blackpool on the Golden Mile. Mishaps happen to each member of the family; the daughter is abandoned miles away by a man who picked her up, the father gets in a fight in a pub, and the brother falls off the Big Dipper. The mother is relieved when she wakes up and is told that they did not win the competition.
