Activity at Croydon Airport in 1936, with focus on Imperial Airways' international flights. We see a Post Office teleprinter operating, then pre-flight checks on the four-engined 'Daedalus' - G AAXA, fuelling-up with hand-pump, and a letter posted in Air Mail box. Food is taken aboard and weather reports are posted. A van collects Air Mail post, followed by an airport 'bus. 'Horatius' is towed to the runway. Passengers and luggage are weighed. The passengers board via covered ramp before take-off.
